Abstract
For those of us in other jurisdictions, there may be a temptation to dismiss these numbers as being a concern for South Africa. But before we do, we need to be sure that the same couldn’t be said of our own institutions. There is probably value in research institutions globally to conduct similar anonymous data collection so as to judge if we have a serious issue bubbling below our perception. This might be something that could be conducted at a national level, by a research funding body or learned society.
