In most cases, when institutions talk about professional development in research ethics, they tend to mean training to follow the rules/national standards or even worse, how to complete an online application form.
Even though this kind of professional development might be described by early career researchers as very useful, it is unlikely to be attractive for experienced researches or to fire the imagination.
This series of excellent talks by Helen Kara approaches the issue from an historical, cultural and philosophical front. Even if you continue to conduct a more procedural approach to professional development, linking to this resource in your institutional library should be considered.
