Indigenous footsteps on red earth

This powerful 5:30 YouTube video provides a 101 introduction to topics about and with Indigenous peoples.  Respectful consultation is not sufficient.  Genuine engagement from the earliest stages of the conception of a project, a commitment to data sovereignty, respectful handling of traditional knowledge and a passionate commitment to the flow of benefits are essential.  Anything less is unacceptable.

Linda is from NZ – although lots of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people use her theories it isn’t explicitly about Indigenous peoples as opposed to being limited to Australia’s Indigenous population.
