On Friday 2 Feb 2018 a few users of the AHRECS website (a quick shout-out to our friends at QUT) let us know about strange activity when they tried to access the blog and other sections of the site.

The activity was generating pop-up ads which, depending on your web server might generate access denied messages.

We’ve given the site a thorough clean and another security patch, but this kind of browser hijack can still occur independently of our site.

If it happens to you (e.g. you start seeing a message saying you’ve won a new iPhone) don’t follow the link. You can find information about what to do about it on a few sites including this helpful page.
