Kangaroo traffic sign on a sunburnt Australian highway.

Dr Sarah Ireland, Research Fellow, CDU, talks about how Indigenous communities challenged the HREC approved consent processes that she intended to use in her doctoral work. This six minute talk is a very practical talk and is a frank reflection on the tension between the bureaucracy of human research ethics (consent templates) and practical ethics (what is useful, respectful and facilitates consent). This is a useful watch that should prompt changes to our practices. Ā We have included links to six related items.
