This funny cartoon is based around the chilling effect that long forms can have upon everyday practice. In this case, it is long forms depressing global terrorism. But more generally, we might ponder the impact of long forms on important research. We aren’t arguing that isn’t a role for long applications for research ethics review. But we are arguing that forms must be proportional to the risks and ethical sensitivities of a proposed research project.
